Patricia L. Martin
On June 28, 2026, God transitioned Patricia Nix Martin (known as Pat) age 76, to serve as his special angel. Patricia Lavern Martin was born on August 27, 1948, in Tampa, FL to the late Addie Brown. She graduated from Howard W. Blake Class of 1967.
She served alongside for 22 years with her now deceased husband MSGT (Ret) Arthur Edward Martin, in numerous duty stations state side and overseas while serving in the United States Army, primarily making their home at Fort Gordon, GA in 1973 for many years then moving to the Augusta, GA area.
She moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1993 and was hired as a Parking Garage Clerk for Shands Hospital. She retired as an Assistant Parking Garage Manager with over 20 years of service. She also worked for Walmart as a cashier before ultimately retiring in 2023.
She was a true sports fan to the fullest. She was either watching or physically going to an NFL or Colligate game, an HBCU football/basketball game, watching NBA & WNBA basketball, PBA Bowling (served as an Advanced Bowling Instructor), music lover both live and audio, and always enthusiastically enjoying numerous cards playing games. She was also an avid supporter of women’s rights, equal rights, and voting rights. She was a two-time Breast Cancer Survivor and spent much of her time at the Conviva Orange Park Senior Center with many friends who will miss her presence every day.
She enjoyed most visiting her brother Joseph Powell in Biloxi, MS or he came to visit her in Jacksonville, FL every year, it was the highlight of her year and they loved each other dearly.
She was preceded in death by her (twin) Daughter, Darlene Renee Loftly; her Siblings: Betty Newton; Jacqueline Nix; Christine Nix.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memories to her loving (twin) son, Daryl Ray Martin of Jacksonville, FL, Brother, Joseph Powell (wife Paulette) of Biloxi, MS; Step Daughter, Betty Ann Hayden, VA; Step Son, Gregory Tyron Lowe, NC; granddaughters, Kiara Nicole Loftly, Macon, GA; Catrea LaNey Martin, Greensboro, NC; grandson, Ryan Armon Loftly, Montezuma, GA; and great granddaughter, Allyah Loftly.
